Nearly 150 people on March 23rd in a mansion that was formerly an embassy. Over $10,000 raised to support our ongoing projects. Four communities around the world impacted forever.
On behalf of the EWB-DC Chapter and our partner communities in Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Panama, and Peru we want to say thank you for making this Gala the most successful yet.
In total, we raised over $10,000 for our projects as attendees socialized, networked, answered trivia, learned about the projects underway, and danced the night away. This was the first year where attendees participated in a project pitch competition. Each project had a chance to pitch their project and attendees had a chance to vote to support the project of their choice. Thanks to the attendees, Cameroon won an additional $2,000 to implement their water project, and the projects in Burkina Faso, Panama, and Peru will each receive between $1,250 and $1,500.
The night wouldn’t have been possible without our sponsors, Michael Baker International and RK&K; our vendors including Eat & Smile Catering and Brian Adrian Photography; and the local vendors who made donations to the silent auction.
